A Celtic Spring Bagpipes, step dancers, fiddlers, and more! South Jackson Civic Center opens its doors to a Celtic evening of music, dance, and fun. Hear The Furies, a group of regional musicians, brighten up your evening with Irish folktunes. And, stand in awe as the bagpipers don their traditional kilts and march in to Celtic melodies that we all know. A Gala Night at the Movies Join us for a night out at the movies. Walk the Red Carpet as you enter the theatre. Have your photo taken with a "star". Then, visit the silent movies with their romance and perils. See the coming of the "talkies". And enjoy the cinema as we know it today. A local cast will take you down memory lane and show us all what "star power" is all about. Musicals, comedy, romance, and adventure - get it all in one Gala night at the South Jackson Civic Center. Heavy Hors D'oeuvres and beverages begin at 6:30. Silent auction and museum open at 6:30. Dessert served after the show. |

High School Musical Trying to find yourself in high school? What a job! Just look at our two main characters as they try to step out of the shadows of their past accomplishments. Are you a brain? A jock? A nerd? A skater? A cheerleader? A PERFORMER? Then this is the play for you. Join us on May 31 for auditions. Bring a select piece of music and a background CD or accompanist if you wish. Dance auditions will also be held during this time. So bring your dancing shoes and a basketball and join us at South Jackson Civic Center. Show Dates: July 18, 19, 20. This musical is being presented through Performing Arts for Children and Teens of the South Jackson Civic Center and the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. |

SOUTH JACKSON GOES COUNTRY Come try out for our musical, comical, just plain fun annual show. Singers and musicians (both soloist and groups), dancers and comedians are needed for our show. Singers need to bring their own accompanists or musical soundtracks on audio tape or CD's. |
