Huck Finn's Story

Huck Finn's Story -- the escape from his drunken father and befriending a runaway slave -- is an adventure tale of excitement and suspense, delightfully sprinkled with homespun humor. The play reveals Huck as a clever, lovable boy, who is baffled by the greed, hypocrisy and absurdity of society. During his long journey down the Mississippi River, he grows up within as well. The Actors Co-op of Knoxville, TN will present this play through a minimal approach, encouraging young audiences to use their imaginations to weave this legendary tale, while entertaining them with songs and storytelling. Grades K through 8.

Director Kara Kemp grew up in Beechgrove and is the daughter of Marcia Manley of Murfreesboro, and Tullahoma residents Jim and Lin Kemp.
